Rebeka's work, fragile paper cutwork pieces inspired by Rob Ryan's 'This Is For You', aim to connect modern day discrimination against people who do not fit the stereotypical celebrity appearance, with values given to us as children in fairytale's, in order to illuminate the impact of our early experiences on later life. This work illustrates a lyrical poem that she wrote with fairytale-like images in mind, with the intention of rekindling old memories in her audience, challenging them to become members of a more accepting and diverse society.She intends to explore these ideas further whilst studying a degree in Illustration, which she hopes to be starting in September this year.
